Grammy visit part 2

We took my mom to Manhattan Beach for lunch on Saturday. Have you eaten at Mama D's? OOOMMMMGGGGG it's good! Strolled down the pier after lunch. This pier is one of my favorite things in SoCal.

It's tough to see the seagull, but Lily was chasing one in this.

We took Grandma to our favorite little aquarium at the end of the pier.
This little octopus was fascinating to watch.

See. She's fascinated.

Pretty hot for a Grandma, huh?

Pretty hot for a husband, huh?
The girl's play is so so super cute. I'm totally loving it. Ana plays one of four leads. She's Sarah Brown, the stuffy missionary trying to save souls in NYC in the 50's.

She ends up falling for this sinful gambler (who's played by a fourth grader in our ward...she's NOT excited over her first "kiss" being a boy 2 years younger and 2 inches shorter than herself.)

Lily was cast as a "Hot Box Dancer." She's very cute and good at it. The little dude in the green shirt is her "boyfriend" in the play. Aren't the costumes great?

The wedding threw me off a little. : /

Here's a video clip of Ana's duet with the other lead. It contains the best HORRIBLE advice EVER!!! I've had several talks with my girls about how this song is humorous, but NOT A GOOD IDEA!!

After the play we celebrated with pizza.

Of course my Tod had to pull a dork move for the picture.
I think I accidentally deleted Lily's dances from my camera. I'll get some video this weekend and post them. They are very cute.

Goodbye now!

Grandma visits. Yay!!

We were so excited to get Grandma for the weekend. She came to watch Ana & Lily in all their many performances.

Ana, who just started playing the french horn in the beginning band a few months ago, was invited to play with the intermediate/advanced band at Disneyland because she SO rocks that horn. She got to miss school, so I pulled Lily out and we followed the buses down to Anaheim for the day.

It was a SCORCHER there and very crowded, therefore we didn't ride one ride. Just wandered around, had an excellent lunch, and looked through the gift shops. That's the beauty of having an annual pass. No pressure to get your money's worth.

While I was watching her play, I had a moment where my heart was so full and I was just so proud of her. She's so talented, lovely and...most important...GOOD. She's such a kind and mature and wonderful girl.

Here's a video clip of they're little Journey foray. Journey. Hmmmm. The smell of wine and cheap perfu-ume....

Grandma & Lily on Donald's boat.

Pointless picture, but it's here to remind me of the tastiest french fries on this ball that is the earth. Garlic Parmesan. So, so good. I lick the plate when the fries are gone. No joke.

Look closely under the vehicle. That's my mom's iPhone 4. When we got in the park she realized she didn't have it and had a hunch it had fallen under the car. We sent a quick wish up to heaven then it would be safe until we returned to the parking structure a few hours later. Wish granted. Amazing.

They totally pooped out on our return drive. Good thing they got a nap. Needed lots of energy for opening night of their play in a few hours.

D-day with Nat and co.

Because Nat brought her kids with her this time, namely her little guy, we had to make a stop at Disneyland.

Ana & Bren on the tram. Can you see the excitement?!

Lily & Bradyn on the Storybook ride (Might be my favorite. It's so cute)

Tea Cups

Matterhorn (Lily used to call it the Butterhorn when she was little. My Grandma made butterhorns every Easter.) See Dale's camera behind me?

Ana got a HORRIBLE sun burn in the shape of a heart a few days prior. She had written on her face with bath tub paints and it caused her skin to burn. The other side was a wing shape.

Autopia. I hate this ride. Hate!

Nat

Nat & Ana. We *might* have violated the "no bumping the car ahead of you" rule...

Prettiest b/f/f ever. We were very deep in thought over people who buy clothing with Disney characters on them. Ugh!

Lil, Bren & Ana

Love that they were holding hands.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans Square. Eat the garlic fries here. DEADLY!!!!

I took this to show Ana the freckle in her eye. (Queue Postal Service song here)

Tom Sawyers Island. Found these two turkeys meditating. HA!

True Love

OMMM

Still contemplating Disney apparel. Very perplexing.

Autopia. We're slowing dying of exhaust inhalation here. So stinky and gross.

My Papa Indy

These poppies were gorgeous.

The ten year olds in us couldn't resist.

We stayed til about 10 pm, at which time every single one of us wanted to die. Except Bradyn. That kid was SUCH a trooper. Didn't complain one time the whole day. The girls, moms & Grandpa on the other hand....
