Little Hosters

This last year Lily got waaaaay into the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. After she read each of those 77 times, she moved on to her next book, The Host. Her friend, Francesca, is also enamored with all Stephanie Meyer's works.

Stephanie Meyer came to The Grove for a book signing. I got up at 5 to take these little yahoos to get their books signed and meet her. Thank goodness we aren't bound by school schedules so we can hit stuff like this when it comes up! 

The line was already super long by the time we arrived at 6 am. The first (??) people (I can't remember how many) got a wristband that entitled them to first entrance and some extra goodies. We were the last people to get wristbands. 

Extra!, the tv show was at The Grove taping an interview with Stephanie and the cast. If you look closely, you'll see Lily and Fran just to the right of the host. They were freaking out. Possibly more over the cast than the author.

We had to wait until like 2 pm before we finally got in to see them.

And here they are hyperventilating over the cast.

There were productions crews there capturing footage to use in the special features for the DVD. They loved Lily & Francesca and their spirited enthusiasm.

Lily pooped after an early morning and a long, hot, exciting day.

THEN, a few days later, the film had it's premier at a Hollywood theater. Once again, we were there early and waited all day in lines because the first 200 people in line got to see the premier. And once again, we got special promos for being in the first 50 people (we were the very last ones again).

This is how Lily killed some of the long day. She gave this bracelet to one of the cast members.

The same production team was filming at the premier and they glommed onto these cute girls again here. They also snuck us up to get first choice to standing room and they gave the girls a making-of book for the film. Here they are at the red (blue) carpet. 

Aaaannnddd....a few months later....here are Lily and Francesca watching themselves in the special features on the DVD!
