Farewell to The Capital

On our last day in DC we went to a fun outdoor farmer's market type thing with Trevor & Jessica. We had delicious Latin cuisine and bought a few souvenirs. Here's Lily picking out a bracelet for her best friend Ali, who we would see a few days later.

Then Trevor took us to the famed Georgetown Cupcakes. It was raining ridiculously hard that day. We waited in the car for a while for the skies to clear up. When they did, we ran for GTCC because there's always a long line.

Bustin' serious yums here.

We ate our treats at Iwo Jima.

Thank goodness we had Trevor with us. He summarized the battle this monument memorializes and was a trove of information on many other issues.  Tod was actually scheduled to fly out and meet us this day, but at the last minute he had to bail because his work load was just massively massive. I was way bummed because - like Trevor - he's a wealth of information on history, politics and many other topics. Plus he's just fun. We really missed him.

Ana. Pooped.
